Patna: Road construction minister, Nitin Nabin, on Wednesday said that the construction of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane highway had been completed and the project would be inaugurated in May. He mentioned that officials were instructed to relocate the high-tension line tower at the Jehanabad bypass. "Additionally, the remaining work on the Auta-Simaria section is to be completed and dedicated to the people of Bihar soon. Instructions have also been given to complete the construction of both ROBs in Bihta within the next two months," Nabin said.
During a meeting with the NHAI officials on Wednesday, the minister reviewed several key projects, including the Amas-Darbhanga four-lane corridor, the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi corridor, and the Auta-Simaria project. Present at the meeting were road construction department secretary, B Karthikey Dhanji, NHAI chief general manager and regional officer, Nilesh L Yavatkar, among other officials.
The minister said, "The construction of the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi four-lane highway is complete. The journey from Patna to Gaya will now take only one and a half hours. The construction cost of this project is Rs 1,910.083 crore, which includes five ROBs, 20 underpasses, four flyovers, and eight bypasses. The Patna-Gaya-Dobhi highway was completed in three separate parts. Part-1 covers work from 0 to 39 km, which is already complete. Part-2 covers work from 39km to 83 km, while Part-3 covers work from 83km to 127km, which is also complete."
The minister stated that necessary instructions were given to officials to expedite the Amas-Darbhanga project. "This expressway in Bihar will connect seven districts and link North and South Bihar. It will save travellers at least four hours of travel time."
Nabin said, "The govt is continuously working to improve traffic facilities across the state. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on accelerating the pace of ongoing development projects in the state by NHAI, focusing on the progress of key projects. Officials have been given necessary guidelines to complete the work with ensuring quality and within the stipulated time frame to realise the vision of an accessible, safe, and modern Bihar."
In the meeting, the minister also instructed officials to ensure smooth vehicle movement on the road from Patna to Bihta. Additionally, officials were directed to conduct site inspections of each project before the next meeting. The minister emphasised that any project can only be completed properly when there is complete information about its actual status.
